The Cause

Sequoia Adult Scholars helps hundreds of low income adults on the SF peninsula, mostly immigrants, by providing them with financial, academic and community support so they can continue their education, get higher paying jobs, and serve as role models and advocates for their children.

I joined the board of SASS in January because the immigrant community on the peninsula needs our support more than ever. The skyrocketing cost-of-living locally makes living on minimum wage untenable, and drastic shifts in policies nationally are creating even greater uncertainty. I want to do everything I can to assist these families, and I thought hosting a house concert was a positive way to support these families while enjoying some live music and getting our neighbors together.
